By voting Conservative – and only by voting Conservative - on 12th December you can respect our democratic decision in the referendum and leave the European Union in the New Year with the deal that Boris Johnson has secured, thereby enabling the new government to focus on those other important areas of policy that need our attention.
Like me, many residents of North East Bedfordshire supported Leave in the referendum. Many others supported Remain but share the belief that we must uphold democracy and secure a new, strong relationship with the EU but as an independent nation. The deal secured by Boris Johnson provides us all with the opportunity to come together to shape that future in a positive, constructive way as friends and partners in business, culture and values. If elected, I will support the passage of the deal and help us move on from this seemingly endless period of delay. Labour offers you the prospect of two more referendums; and the Liberal Democrats do not even want to recognise the public vote to Leave.
This election however is also about supporting Conservative promises to invest in our NHS, to increase funding for our police force, something acutely needed in Bedfordshire, and to support excellence in education and training for future generations. Jeremy Corbyn is a major risk to our economy and our security which is why so many traditional, well respected, Labour Party figures are urging a vote for the Conservatives.
I am asking for your vote to allow me to represent you as your Member of Parliament for North East Bedfordshire. Please use your vote to secure a majority Conservative government.
If elected as your MP, I promise to be passionate and effective in standing up for the interests of all residents; to campaign for improved investment in roads and better rail services and to protect the rural character and rural interests of the constituency.
